What is the world’s TOP 5 hardest, but highest paid jobs?

The amount of remuneration depending on the risk in the workplace has given way some time ago to professions in which earnings are dictated by the knowledge of new technologies, specialist knowledge in demanding fields or human resource management skills, thanks to which it is possible to shape successful companies. Looking at the most dangerous and hardest jobs in the world, however, you can find those that still reward employees who sacrifice their health and life every day at work.

Here are the TOP 5 hardest, but also the best paid professions in the world:

  • Working on an oil rig

Extraction of oil, gas or other raw materials using a drilling rig is one of the most dangerous and at the same time the most mentally and physically tiring professions in the world. Employees who decide to work in the profession must take into account 12-hour shifts and the need to stay on the platform for 14 or even 28 days in a row, working every day until they leave the platform for the next 14 or 28 days, respectively. The dangers of working far off shore, with no direct access to shore help and working 12-hour days in very difficult conditions are real here, but well rewarded. It is estimated that you can earn 60-110 thousand on the drilling rig. dollars a year.

  • Crab fishing

Although this job may seem like a complete contrast to working on an oil rig, those who professionally engage in crab fishing lose a lot of crew members around them each year. The problem here is, of course, the distance from the shore, the need to work under water and very intense physical effort during the season. salaries? It is estimated that the best fishermen are able to earn from 50 to even 100 thousand. dollars per season.

  • Pilots

Pilots both in large airlines, the army and in the service of cargo aircraft earn really well, but every day they take a lot of risk sitting at the helm of a flying giant. With an average salary of up to $114,000 a year, pilots boast a decidedly lucrative but dangerous job. Among the threats, however, one should remember not only about the loss of control over the plane, engine failures and planes falling to the ground – every day pilots suffer from occupational diseases resulting from constant work in a sitting position at the controls of the plane, pressure differences on the ground and in the air, dry air in aircraft cabin and an increased risk of eye diseases associated with continuous exposure to sunlight above cloud level.

  • Underwater works

Divers who perform inspections and repairs of underwater parts of vessels on a daily basis, inspections of hydrotechnical structures, bottom approvals, cuts, underwater welding and concreting, laying prefabricated elements and geotextiles or extracting lost elements in the water are exposed to quite a high occupational risk, however, they also have a chance to earn quite good wages. The estimated average income among professional divers in the United States is as much as $50,000 a year, and the best of them can earn up to double that.

  • Construction industry

Workers on construction sites, whether they work at heights, operating machinery or as engineers, are exposed to many different types of injuries, occupational diseases and serious accidents that can even lead to death. Earnings here can be very diverse and, taking Poland as an example, it can be expected that it is not a very well-paid profession, but statistics kept by American employment agencies show that the average annual earnings for foremen and construction engineers can reach up to 60,000 dollars.

To the list of dangerous, although well-paid professions in the world (not necessarily in Poland), it is also worth adding miners, employees of power plants and those related to energy constructions, employees of garbage and sewage sorting plants, firemen, lumberjacks, steelworks employees, welders, policemen and even doctors, who, having daily contact with biological factors, are exposed to all kinds of diseases and injuries. Therefore, although nowadays it may seem that white-collar workers earn much more than manual workers, in fact, on a global scale, it is the latter who are constantly on the list of the highest earners. The professions mentioned in the list often risk their lives for the common good – it’s good to know that their work is properly rewarded for it.
