What are the benefits of employee benefits?

In addition to the standard remuneration, employee benefits are to motivate to work and make the time spent at work and outside it more pleasant. Fruit Fridays, sports passes or medical packages are becoming a standard in many companies.

Employee benefits are non-wage supplements to remuneration, which are intended to attract new employees and retain existing ones. Many companies compete in ideas to make their offer more attractive. However, the goal is one – to increase employee productivity.

In the selection of employee benefits, diversity is important to be able to meet the needs of as many people as possible. More physically active employees will be happy to use the sports pass, while others prefer to eat a free lunch at work.

Such diversification is not only a great convenience and a kind of reward for employees, but also a great distinguishing feature of a given company from others, which can attract new employees.

Providing attractive benefits for employees is a good practice related to building the company’s image. A good atmosphere at work makes employees emotionally attached to their company, which can affect greater involvement in the development of the company. Thanks to the benefits, the company’s costs related to recruitment are also reduced, because the employee thinks less about changing jobs. Non-wage allowances increase the attractiveness of a given job offer without generating large costs for the company.

Employees are the most important resources of any company, and employee benefits are a good escape from everyday stress. First of all, they affect the well-being of employees. Depending on the type of benefit, the employee has the option of taking a break from work duties for a moment or relaxing after work. A rested employee is much more efficient at work, which at the same time increases his motivation.

Many companies offer various benefits to satisfy as many of their employees as possible. The most popular are:

  • private medical care packages,
  • sports passes,
  • language courses,
  • free or subsidized meals at work,
  • gift cards,
  • tickets for cultural events,
  • healthy snacks at work.

In addition to benefits that can be used outside working hours, many companies implement forms of activity that are included in the standard working day, e.g. table tennis, computer games, massage on a special massage chair.

The largest corporations often use unusual employee benefits. Their offer is practically unlimited. The most interesting are:

  • room for napping during working hours,
  • cleaning service at the employee’s home,
  • free beauty services,
  • additional day off for birthday,
  • the possibility of taking your pet to work,
  • cash or material prizes for losing unnecessary kilograms.
