What is talent management?

Talent management is a process of strategic development and improvement of employees with high potential and exceptional skills.

The goal of talent management is to identify, develop and retain key employees who have the potential to be promoted to managerial positions or to play key roles in the organization in the future.

This process consists in consciously investing in the development of employees by providing them with appropriate training, mentoring, challenges and development opportunities. Talent management is based on the belief that the key factors of an organization’s success are people with exceptional abilities, and their development translates into the organization’s ability to achieve better results.

In practice, talent management includes:

  • Identification of Potential: Early identification of employees with potential for promotion or key roles in the future.
  • Personalized Development: Creating personalized development plans that match the skills and ambitions of a particular employee.
  • Training and Development: Providing training, courses and other learning opportunities to help employees acquire new skills and competencies.
  • Mentoring: Connecting employees with experienced mentors who can help with their professional development.
  • Unique Challenges: Assign employees to projects and tasks that require the development of new skills and strategic thinking.
  • Career Path Management: Helping employees plan their career path within the organization, including defining goals, promotions and achievements.
  • Regular Assessments and Feedback: Provide regular communication and feedback to keep employees clear about their progress and areas for improvement.

Talent management aims to increase employee engagement, improve staff retention and build a strong base of potential leaders and experts in the organization. This supports the sustainable development of the organization, allowing for faster adaptation to changing market conditions and new business challenges.
