What was the subject of the meeting of the Social Dialogue Council’s P Team on International Affairs in April 2022?

On 22 April 2022, a meeting of the International Affairs Team was held, which was led by its Chairman Janusz Pietkiewicz.

The agenda of the meeting included the following two topics:

  • Polish activities related to the armed conflict in Ukraine,
  • 110th session of the International Labour Conference (27 May – 11 June 2022).

A representative of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration provided information on the actions taken by the Government of the Republic of Poland in the field of assistance provided to refugees, including humanitarian aid. Similar information was provided by representatives of the social partners on the involvement of their organisations.

The representative of the MRiPS presented the program of the 110th session of the ICC and technical and organizational matters related to the participation of the tripartite Polish delegation in it. The agenda of the ICC will include, m.in, issues such as: apprenticeship (standard-setting activities, first discussion); periodic discussion on the strategic objective – employment within the framework of the follow-up ILO Declaration on Social Justice for Fair Globalisation; decent work and social and solidarity-based economy (general discussion); the inclusion of safe and healthy working conditions within the framework of the ILO’s fundamental principles and rights at work by amending paragraph 2 of the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work of 1998; the adoption of amendments to the Maritime Labour Convention Code, 2006, subject to their approval by the Special Tripartite Committee (established under Article XIII of the MLC) at its fourth meeting in May.

The conference, due to the need to maintain sanitary safety and travel restrictions still in force in many countries of the world, as well as due to housing restrictions caused by renovation works carried out at the UN and ILO headquarters, will be held in a hybrid format.
