What was the meeting of the Social Insurance Team of the Social Dialogue Council about in September this year about?

On September 22, 2020, a meeting of the Social Insurance Team of the Social Dialogue Council took place. During the meeting, the following issues were discussed: compulsory social insurance coverage for all persons working or performing work and those engaged in non-agricultural economic activity with proportionally the same contribution burdens, retirement pensions and the cancellation of bridging pensions.

In the first part of the meeting, Mr. Stanisław Szwed, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, briefly presented the government’s proposals on topics for discussion with social partners on possible changes to the provisions of compulsory social insurance. Subsequently, the employees 'and employers’ sides drew attention to additional issues that should be discussed at the next meeting of the Social Insurance Team. Particular attention was paid to the need to create a draft amendment, the aim of which will be to cover all forms of non-agricultural business activity and solutions regarding the confluence of insurance titles. In the context of possible changes, it was also proposed to include new forms of work.
The next part of the meeting was devoted to setting the main directions of work on legislative changes in the field of retirement pensions and bridge pensions. The problem related to the payment of additional care allowance was also raised in the context of the need for the employee to submit the original application to the employer.
