What is the Anti-Crisis Industry Shield?
The gastronomy, entertainment, fitness and retail industries will receive further support in tackling the pandemic crisis. Entrepreneurs from these industries will be able to count, among others for exemption from ZUS and parking benefits for November, as well as subsidies in the amount of PLN 5,000 PLN. Over PLN 1.8 billion is to be allocated for this purpose. However, this is not the end, because the government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is working on new solutions that will help save Polish enterprises and jobs. It is estimated that the Industry Shield will help approx. 200 thousand. companies and 372 thousand. employees. As part of the Industry Shield, entrepreneurs can count on well-known support instruments. Among them are:
- exemption from social security contributions (for November) – if the income in November is 40% lower year to year;
- downtime benefit (for November) – if the income in October or November is 40% lower year to year;
- a small subsidy of PLN 5,000 PLN – if the income in X or XI is lower by 40% year to year;
Employers from industries most affected by the pandemic will have deferred payment of PIT advances collected from their employees. The advance payments for October, November and December will be postponed by half a year. Thanks to this, in these three key months, PLN 300 million will remain on the accounts of companies. The solution will be introduced by an appropriate regulation. Additionally, the possibility of using the already functioning aid forms will be extended. Enterprises which did not meet the conditions in the spring, and only now felt the deterioration of the economic situation for the first time, can benefit from subsidies for wages, micro-loans and standstill. They have until June 30, 2021. So far, businesses in the catering, entertainment, sports and retail industries have also received government support. As part of the existing support for the Financial Shield of the Polish Development Fund, up to 60 thousand. companies operating in these sectors received PLN 7.9 billion. Under the Anti-Crisis Shield, these companies gained PLN 2.9 billion due to exemptions from ZUS and parking payments.
