What are the news related to the Social Dialogue Council?
October 22 this year members of the Social Dialogue Council on behalf of “Solidarity” resigned. The chairmen of NSZZ “Solidarność”, Piotr Duda, Bogdan Kubiak, Henryk Nakonieczny, Wojciech Ilnicki, Andrzej Kuchta, Jarosław Lange, Waldemar Sopata and Leszek Walczak, resigned from membership in the Social Dialogue Council. The reason for the resignation of trade unionists is – as explained by Piotr Duda – “the illegal appointment by President Andrzej Duda of new members of the Social Dialogue Council”. According to trade unionists, the special act on special solutions related to preventing, counteracting and combating COVID-19 deprived the president of the right to appoint new members of the RDS. “This law contains bizarre records that turn the Social Dialogue Council upside down. The Prime Minister (Mateusz Morawiecki) has given himself powers, thanks to which, due to the loss of trust, he can dismiss any member of the RDS” – said Piotr Duda. “We do not agree to the destruction of dialogue by the government of the United Right. We demand that this law be proceeded to the Constitutional Tribunal or its amendment as soon as possible,” he added.
