How does employee rotation affect the selection of benefits by employers?

Employers are constantly modifying their benefit programs to prevent excessive employee turnover or attract new people to the organization. In addition to the currently desired psychological care, they also include post covid rehabilitation in their benefits. 90 percent companies increase the scope of benefits when renewing the policy, and 25 percent. decides to make changes during the current contract with the insurer.

The Labour Market Monitor prepared by Randstad shows that 58 percent. of the surveyed Poles want to change jobs. 10 percent actively looking for a new job, and 48 percent analyses the available offers. It was similar in spring, when it was 11 and 47 percent, respectively. This means that employees, regardless of the conditions, strive to improve their professional situation. In the last 6 months, employers were changed mainly by salespeople and cashiers (36%), middle-level managers (26%) and office and administrative workers (23%).

– Our observations are consistent with the results of the study. When talking to employers, we can see that the topic of relatively high employee turnover is one of the most important factors that they take into account when selecting benefits. Access to private healthcare, paid for by the employer, is an invariably highly desirable non-wage benefit. Employees are already so used to it that the scope of group health insurance and medical packages is becoming richer and better suited to the needs of employees, which also brings many benefits to the employers themselves, because in addition to reducing rotation or increasing the effectiveness of recruitment, it also affects the level of sickness absence of employees – notes Xenia Kruszewska, director of the Health Insurance Department at SALTUS Ubezpieczenia.

According to experts, employers are even more attentive than before to creating benefit programs available to employees. In order to meet the changes in needs arising as a result of the pandemic, special emphasis is now placed on helping to regain form after many months of limited physical activity and to deal with psychological problems resulting from both being locked at home and returning to functioning in public spaces and work. landline. In addition, there is also the care of people who have passed COVID-19 and are struggling with the long-term effects of coronavirus infection.

– Healthy and efficient employees are the basis of the company’s operation. Therefore, it is not surprising that employers decide to modify and expand the list of private benefits available to employees. After all, the sooner the employees receive appropriate help, the sooner they will return to fitness and work – emphasizes Kruszewska. According to her, good medical care is an important element of strengthening the image of a friendly and responsible employer. – Currently, practically every employer, when renewing the policy, decides to increase the scope of insurance, and about 25 percent. decides to extend it during the term of the contract – says Kruszewska.
