The number of accidents at work has been decreasing for several years. The Central Statistical Office data shows that 2019 is the next year in which the number of accidents at work has decreased. Last year, a total of 83,205 injured persons were reported, i.e. by 1.3 percent. less than in 2018. What is important is the fact that the number of fatal accidents has significantly decreased – in 2019 there were 184 such cases, i.e. by more than 11 percent. than a year ago, there were them then. Other data that are worth paying attention to is the systematic decline since 2014, the so-called accident rate (the number of victims per 1,000 employed) for the entire economy, which last year was 6.15, a year earlier this indicator was 6.37.

For the time being, the Central Statistical Office of Poland (CSO) provides preliminary data for 2019. Accurate data on accidents at work, including on the construction site, will be available in the publication, which will be published in November 2020.
