Why are more and more companies opting for defibrillators?

AED defibrillators are automatic devices that generate electrical impulses. They can save human lives in case of sudden cardiac arrest, support the rescue operation in an unconscious person who is not breathing or breathing incorrectly.

According to statistics, there are about 40,000 cases of sudden cardiac arrest in Poland every year. Unfortunately, only 10% of people survive them. Quick use of the defibrillator increases the chances of success of the rescue operation by as much as seven times!

In a situation where human life is threatened, we feel enormous stress, we can panic and mistakenly delete the condition of the victim. AED „thinks for us”. After sticking the electrodes to the body of an unconscious person, the device will examine his pulse. Based on the calculations made, the AED informs us what the next steps will be and prepares us for them. During the rescue operation, we will hear commands such as „please move away” „continue resuscitation”. So we are guided through the whole process until the ambulance arrives. The device helps to keep a cool head and tells you what actions to take to make the help most effective.

AED devices are easy to use, safe for the person providing assistance and witnesses of the event.

More and more defibrillators can be found in public use points – in offices, museums, schools.

As for The Polish law, it does not specify that companies are obliged to stock up on a defibrillator. European standards say that an AED should be located in a workplace that employs more than 100 people. The average price of this type of device is about PLN 5,000. So it is an expense for which there may be a place in the budget, especially in the case of large enterprises.
