What are the rights of social labour inspectors?

The Social Labour Inspectorate is a social service performed by employees, aimed at ensuring safe and hygienic working conditions by workplaces and protecting employee rights specified in the provisions of labor law.

Social labour inspectors have the right to:

  • control the condition of buildings, machinery, technical and sanitary equipment and technological processes from the point of view of occupational health and safety;
  • control compliance with the provisions of labour law, including the provisions of collective agreements and work regulations, in particular in the field of occupational health and safety, rights of employees related to parenthood, adolescents and disabled persons, holidays and working time, benefits for accidents at work and occupational diseases;
  • participate in the control of compliance with environmental regulations in the workplace;
  • participate in determining the circumstances and causes of accidents at work, in accordance with the provisions of labor law;
  • participate in the analysis of the causes of accidents at work, occupational diseases and other diseases caused by working environment conditions and control the application of appropriate preventive measures by workplaces;
  • participate in the social review of working conditions;
  • give opinions on draft plans to improve occupational health and safety conditions and vocational rehabilitation plans and control the implementation of these plans;
  • take action for the active participation of employees of workplaces in shaping appropriate health and safety conditions at work and affect employees’ compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and rules;
  • perform other tasks specified by law and in specific regulations.
